Workshop on Statistical Data Science
To foster collaboration within the EUt+ data science community, the Darmstadt Institute of Statistics and Operations Research (DISO) is going to host the first Workshop on Statistical Data Science. The intent is to provide an opportunity for all partners to share experiences on statistics and statistical programming in data science, as well as to network and to strengthen scientific exchange.
More information will follow soon.
We welcome contributions from all eight partners of the European University of Technology related (but not limited) to the following topics:
- Statistical and machine learning methods in data science
- Statistical software and programming
- Applications in industry and research
- Other topics (e.g. teaching, …)
We would explicitly like to encourage also early career data scientists to present their work. Work in progress is also welcome.
Abstracts can be up to 500 words and may consist of:
- Presentation title and thematic area and presentation format
- An overview of the theoretical and/or professional practice context of your research/project
- A statement that identifies the question(s) that your research/project tries to answer
- A summary of the results, or anticipated results, of your research/project.
- An explanation of the significance and anticipated application of your results (this may include the intended user(s) or audience)
- Clear, succinct conclusions drawn from your research/project.
Please submit your abstract as a PDF file via e-mail to wsds.fbmn@h-da.de, together with your preferred type of presentation (oral or poster).
Call for abstracts is open now and closes on March 26th, 2023. We plan to provide an acceptance notification and a preliminary programme by the beginning of April, 2023.
Workshop attendance and participation are free of charge. Attendees are kindly asked to register at wsds.fbmn@h-da.de or by using the registration form until April 15th, 2023.
During the conference, picture, film and sound recordings may be made. By registering, you give your consent for these recordings to be published in reports or publications about the conference.
How can I get to Darmstadt from Frankfurt Airport?
Use the Airport Shuttle AIR (Airliner Bus) to travel directly from Frankfurt Airport to Darmstadt Central Railway Station. It leaves every half hour and the journey time is only 30 minutes. Additional information can be found here.
