MINT-school-lab

Promoting MINT-education (mathematics, information technology, natural sciences, technology) at schools and universities is a major challenge. For Germany as an industrial and business location, well-trained and motivated scientists and engineers are crucial to remain competitive in the international market.

In the summer of 2020, therefore, the MINT-school-lab, based in the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, was launched. The following goals are being pursued with it:

  • Weekly lab appointments for students in grades 5 through 13.
  • MINT vacation camps and project weeks
  • Support for students participating in MINT competitions
  • Implementation of MINT school internships (mandatory or voluntary)
  • Continuing education programs for MINT teachers

Since July 2020, there has also been a cooperation with the Gymnasium Oberursel and since September 2020, a cooperation with the Eleonorenschule in Darmstadt.
